I’ve finally come to the end of my placement here at AND – and my gosh has it gone quickly! Work has ranged from food testing Japanese health foods to working on client briefs. AND is my first taste of agency life and attempting to organise creative minds, clients and meeting strict deadlines has definitely been a new challenge.

Every day has somehow awakened my creative thinking, from reading the ‘read it and reap’ blog, looking at the creative studio scamps (sketches) to adverts that are sent round the office. AND then, there is the creative social media and digital team who never cease to impress on their abbreviations and knowledge on the latest social media craze.
I’ve learnt that yes, brands have to be aligned to their promise but a customer and a brand begin a journey from their first touch point with the brand, whether it’s through an add, campaign or a simple slogan. Whatever the customers sees first – probably determines the next steps…whether a customer visits, buys or devours the brand. That is what AND delivers, the ad that makes a customer start a journey with the brand – and I’m not just saying that, they have won numerous awards for such creativity! You’ve probably seen all the hype around the latest AND award – ‘Bucca de Beppo’. You can’t tell me that isn’t a good journey to start with a brand. So when something turns you on creatively – share, enjoy and honour, because creative sparks like that do not happen often and are hard to find!
